Brazilians secure first place at World Footvolley Finals

Lane and Ray and Tavinho and Amaury take the gold at the season finale in Santa Catarina.

Brazil confirmed its favoritism and put on a show at the World Footvolley Finals in Santa Catarina. Both on the women's competition, with Lane and Ray, and the men's, with Tavinho and Amaury, there were first time titles and a Brazilian take over on the podium.

In the women's final, Lane and Ray beat the two-time world champions, Natalia and Vanessa by 2-0 to secure footvolley's most sought after title for the first time. In 2021, they were runners-up after losing to Natalia and Vanessa in the final.

The Austrians, Antonia and Nina, completed the women's podium on the third place after beating the Israelis, Marjo and Illy 2-0.

As current champions, Brisa and Sandrey (Brazil) did not advance from group stage, whoever was champion would be an unprecedented title and the final placed Índio and Felipe and Tavinho and Amaury face to face. The duo from Bahia won the first set, but Tavinho and Amaury recovered in the second and forced a tiebreak, where they managed to turn things around to guarantee the World Footvolley title for the first time.

Third place in the men's side went to the Israelis Ron and Maor, who beat the Spaniards Juan Lopez and Facundo 2-0.
