World Footvolley Finals announced in Santa Catarina

Footvolley World Cup - Santa Catarina - October 20th to 22nd 2023

After successful editions in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo, it was time for the southern region to host a World Footvolley event, the sport's main international organization. This year's edition will take place from October 20 to 22nd of October, at Parque Diamante + Energia, in Santa Catarina and will feature the best Brazilian, South American and European teams both in men and women's competitions.

“We are very excited about the support of Parque Diamante + Energia, which will take a World Footvolley event to the southern region of Brazil for the first time. We remain committed to generating value for the sport, as well as for our partners”, points out Luiz Gomes, founder of World Footvolley.

In the men's category, current champions Brisa and Sandrey will face the best Brazilian teams in the group stage and if they advance, they will have a scheduled meeting against Israel, Spain, Argentina or the United States in the semi-finals. Meanwhile, in the women's competition, Natalia Guitler and Vanessa Tabarez will defend the title against their main national rivals and teams from Austria, Spain, Argentina and Portugal.

“We are ready to defend our title once again and we hope that the arrival of World Footvolley in the South region will help inspire new players who will be in our place in the near future.”, declares Natalia Guitler, current World Footvolley champion.

With the schedule starting on Friday (Oct. 20), the event will also include amateur categories, offering the opportunity for local women's and U23 teams to participate. On Saturday (Oct. 21) a total of 12 matches will define the teams that advance to the final stages and on Sunday (Oct. 22), the match ups to define the world's best and World Footvolley rankings.

The expectation is that the event will attract around 5,000 spectators and reach more than 10 million people across tv broadcasts, streaming and digital content.
